The place to be if you’re crazy about collecting.
Hi there! My name is V and I run Collecting Asylum along with my partner, Allan. We are from Glasgow, Scotland and are massive fans of gaming, movies and so much more (but if you’re here, then you may know that already!)
Collecting Asylum was started in 2012 as a way for us to document our collection. We have both been collectors for almost our entire lives, spanning everything from Beanie Babies to designer handbags and Dragon Ball Z toys to video games and movies.
It was only in 2010 that we’d fully start to seek out Collector’s Editions of the games and movies we love, and fall deep into the world of collecting. As well as collecting those, we also spent a lot of time hunting down movie props, comic books, plushies and everything in between which led to our collection growing at an exponential rate.
But as the industries saw the huge interest in all of the above, they released more and more, and it became hard to keep up - so our interest waned a little.
Now, we have more of a focus on reviewing titles, as well as unboxing Editions where we can. I still aim to have posts for everything we own - not only to document them for ourselves but so that you can view these items and see reviews and comparisons from fans just like you!
